The Relief,
rehabilitation and Disaster Management Branch deals with matters relating to the
following;
- Cash Relief
- Ex-gratia
- Donation for
Charitable purpose
- Relief for
Natural Calamities
- Disaster
Management
Cash Relief
: Cash Relief are granted to the poor, distress and needy persons and also for old age.
Relief is also granted to all the 60 A/Cs of the State.
Ex-gratia
: Government who may be killed while
performing bonofide Government duty are granted ex-gratia ranging from Rs. 1.00 to Rs.
5.00 lakhs depending on the status and nature of duty. Civilians who may be killed due to
uncalled for action on the part of the Government duty officials and also those killed in
natural calamities are paid ex-gratia or merit.
Donations
: Financial assistance in the term of donation is extended to the organisation and
institutions who render charitable works to the public.
Rehabilitation
: Cash relief in the term of rehabilitation is also granted to ex-undergrounds.
Relief on account of Natural Calamities :
Under this Scheme immediate relief measures are granted to the victims of natural
calamities like Flood, Cyclone, Drought, Earthquakes, Landslides, Fire, etc.
The Scheme is
funded by both Central and State Government of the ratio 75 : 25 respectively.
Disaster
Management : Government of Nagaland has constituted the State Level
Disaster Management Committee to review
programmes at periodic intervals in respect of the programme for Disaster Risk Management.
Further, the setting up of Search and Rescue teams in the State has been under the active
organisation by the Home Guards Establishment and team members to be trained at the
National Fire Service College, Nagpur and Fire Academy of Central Industrial Security
Force, Hyderabad (as per Government of India suggestions) after formation of the teams.
Further,
Government has also as per directions of the Government of India has re-designated the
Relief & Rehabilitation Branch, Home Department to Relief, Rehabilitation &
Disaster Management Branch. |
