Sao Chang College, erstwhile Tuensang College was established in 1973. This was started first as night College to provide opportunity to office goers with few enrolment. As per a resolution of the Steering Committee held on 25-4-1974 the name of the College was changed from Night College to Tuensang College.The College has over the years played a leading role in the field of social change and educational advancement. Subsequently the College was named as Sao Chang College.

The College was taken over by the Government on 15-4-1983. 

The College offers Honours Courses in  English, Political Science and History.
